About Scarlett

Look into my eyes

Hi, my name is Scarlett. I’m a miniature Dachshund (actually a border line tweenie) That means I weigh 10 pounds or so. I’m 5 years old now and I love to run. I chase squirrel and rabbits all over my yard and along with my sisters we catch a lot.

My favorite running is real running with my human. We go out on the green ways and roads and run whenever we can. I like the 5k runs. They are long enough to enjoy but not too long for my short legs.

I was born from an accidental encounter and lost my dachshund mommy when I was just 3 days old. My  human and my dachshund daddy raised me and my 5 brothers. Bottle feeding is not the same as a mommy though.

My forever humans met me when I was just 8 weeks old and the mommy fell in love with me immediately. I became a special Christmas present for my new forever human mommy. My forever human daddy took a long time to start to love me, but when he did it was all the way. He had to learn to balance the love between my new sisters and the human mommy. Now I think I’m more attached to him but I love both my forever humans.

For all those apparent internet know it all’s that think I shouldn’t be running or jumping or sitting up pretty (I don’t sit pretty by the way) or any one of a hundred other things Dachshunds should never do because it will hurt their back! Butt out of my life. My Doctor sees me every 3 months and every time we ask if I can keep running and every time he has said yes. I’m healthy, happy and in better shape than most. The day i can’t keep up with the old human is the day I’ll stop running. I most likely will still walk and I’ll have fun living my life the way I want. If you really want to see what I’m all about come out and run with me!!

  1. She’s so cute, and a really sweet dog. I enjoy her every day I’m a lucky Mommy.

It was great to meet fellow Doxie lovers. Your babie are adorable. Mine passed out on the way home. Check out Daisy’s FB page, https://www.facebook.com/daisymayclamser/, when you get a chance.
